NUMENUS GmbH named winner of Berlin Pitch Slam

The Innovate!2010 Pitch Slam in Berlin took place on the 22nd of March at IBB Beteiligungsgesellschaft, and NUMENUS GmbH walked away as the newest member of the Innovate!100 list of the most 100 promising technology startups.

NUMENUS is a young, innovative company, based on the research results of the dissertation from Dr. Oliver Abert. The software Augenblick was generated within 3 years at the university Koblenz-Landau and also the idea of founding a company. We from NUMENUS appreciate easy to use software and would like to make our products accessible to the public. The team of NUMENUS is open for feedback, suggestions and questions at any time, since we are convinced that good software can only be created in collaboration with the User.
Realtime Ray Tracing
Realtime ray tracing facilitates the calculation of realistic and qualitatively high-class pictures from 3D-scenes, whereas the computation time required for images synthesis is much shorter in comparison to traditional ray tracing. Thanks to the realtime ray tracing technology developed by NUMENUS, the representation of complex 3D data sets is possible in fractions of seconds. Therefore, 3D objects can be displayed, moved and modified in real time easily. Likewise, the physically correct simulation of reflections, shadows and the refraction of light are possible.
Augenblick SDK
Augenblick is a flexible software library, which efficiently can be fitted towards specific customer requirements.
It supports all major operation systems (Mac OS, Linux, Windows) respectively in 32 and 64 bit versions running on Intel, AMD and PowerPC processors. A particular unique feature is the direct support of complex free form surfaces (NURBS and Bézier), which means no triangulation is required.
